Formerly the NRA Foundation, the 1791 Foundation continues the same enduring mission with renewed clarity, independence, and purpose. The name 1791 marks the ratification of the Bill of Rights and the freedom we exist to preserve. It reminds us where this work began and signals where it is going.
The mission of the 1791 Foundation is to empower all Americans by fostering and funding responsible firearm ownership and use, promoting constitutional education, and cultivating a passion for the shooting sports to build stronger and safer communities.
This new chapter lets us pursue that mission with greater focus, transparency, and impact.
